I'm not sure anyone knows as he apparently hasn't told coaching staffs yet. Fong usually has the goods but I'm not sure even he is sure.

One insider for OSU said they have felt good over the last week about it and nothing they have heard has changed their opinion.

The only real "stake in the ground" is Fong I think

Maybe. But you don’t turn down a kid like Downs.

Both starting safeties are seniors and will be gone after 2022. Several other upperclassmen DBs too.

I think he means committed. Honestly think we have three 5 star safties lol. I think Hurley will end up being safety as well.

Regardless Alabama is trying to take several DBs because they need to. Lots of opportunities for freshmen to play and start in 2023.

Bama loses both safeties, and likely a corner or two and maybe even the star, if Branch goes pro. Lots of opportunities for young guys the next year or two. We needed a good secondary class and it looks like Saban is hitting it out of the park.

Does this officially mean the next time coach Saban talks about NIL he will be considered a genius again?

No. Downs is a Free Safety. Hubbard is a Strong Safety.
