We did not get rid of the Bumbles. Their coach and Bear Bryant got into a scuffle and back then Bumbles football coach had the power to leave the SEC. Lesson learned and like "Casino" they never let coaches have that much power again.
Now Presidents, AD's, and lots of lawyers have that power.
