Do you think USC/UCLA was in response to Tx./Ok. & the SEC to 16 teams?
Or is there more to it?
Or is there more to it?

No It’s just a coincidence. How dense are you?

Yes.
It’s just that, like most times concerning college football, the ACC/big10/pac/big12 are ALWAYS waiting, due to fear.
Then the sec says, “hey watch this” and it works. Then the Johnny come latelys hatch a plan.
Even more hilarious is how they had The Alliance press conference then poached each other.

I've read numerous interviews with Kevin Warren. He makes no bones about it, he wants to position the B1G as much more than an athletics conference. He wants to use it as a political and social influencing entity. To that end, I believe he's trying to build a national conference.
And although he's never said it publicly, I believe he absolutely hates the SEC for their refusal to join him in shutting down college football post Covid. Warren wanted to make a statement. Sankey ruined his big day.
That he was willing to gut the PAC-12, which has always been an ally of the Big10 going back to the fallout from the SEC and others forming the CFA and taking the NCAA to court over TV revenue, shows just how desperate Warren is to accomplish his goal.

The B1G does not react or respond. It sets the pace.

They are a business like we are, the pac cancelling football 2 years ago is what did this, the big was just there to scavenge.

It has a lot to do with the PAC dying as well. If the PAC hadn't become so weakened then I doubt USC and UCLA bolt even with Texas and Oklahoma moving.

So the PAC/B1G can have an intrasquad scrimmage at the Rose Bowl

I think it has been coming for a long time

The “alliance” between all the non-SEC CONFERENCES basically produced “The prisoners dilemma “ for all schools in those conferences. USC and UCLA cracked first and jumped before the other schools so they weren’t left holding their cocks.
