If it were only about coaching during a game but it's all the other things that a Division 1 power 5 coach has to deal with and in that regard Powell has zero experience.

Yet South Carolina hasn't been recruiting at the level we have been accustomed to and the play reflects it. It's ludicrous to suggest that the Louisville Coach or Notre Dame Coach, to mention 2, are just going through the motion. It's still the jimmy and Joe's that get you to the top. How many recruits, besides Gamecock fans, know who Powell is. Your head coach is the biggest recruiting draw and a division 2 coach from Greenville SC is not going to pull top recruits from outside of our state. What's idiotic is wanting to hire a lower division coach with absolutely no experience in the elite baseball conferences to try and lead a blue blood program back to it's glory days.

He may be a good hire, and maybe you take a chance on him after kingston as a low risk, high reward take.
I just get why fans would want someone who has coached at a high level (Like what A&M got with Schloss)
