I agree with you.
But
There are a lot of kids playing at Notre Dame who should have stayed in the SEC but left because it is Notre Dame.
For every athlete that they pass on, they gain an athlete from somewhere across the entire country to choose their academics and religious affiliation.

I can't comment on the workload, etc. but lsu has higher minimum admission requirements than Notre Dame.

I am not so sure about this either. Most of the football players that I have met at A&M over the years have been pretty intelligent people.
I believe ND is a great school with a lot of tradition and a great history. Academically, I think they are pretty average.
