The NCAA was a screwed up mess. Of that, we all should agree. North Carolina cheated their asses off and .... nothing. You want other examples? I doubt you need them.
Then who is or was the NCAA anyway? It's the Universities themselves. They hired these guys and gave them what power they wanted them to have. They will have something in it's place, of this I have no doubt. It may even be better.
Let's just all relax a bit. The sky is not falling.

I agree with all of this. This is why Pate said he had optimism and I agree with him. There is a vacuum for some good leadership and organization post-NCAA, but it has to happen.
The biggest impediment seems to be the conference commissioners bickering with each other right now.
