A&M track sits #2 right now and a big thanks to that is from Achane. The latest rankings update specifically credit him.

quote:

Texas A&M jumped into the passenger seat next to the Longhorns. The second-ranked Aggies contributed four new or improved national top-10 marks to their ledger, led by two from Devon Achane. The sophomore sprinter is now the co-national leader in the 200 at 20.20 and ranked fifth in the 100 with a wind-aided 10.12. Texas A&M also has the fifth-ranked 4×100 relay, which included Achane on the second leg.

Edit: My bad. That was week 2. Here is week 4. We're #3 now.

Texas A&M dropped one spot to No. 3 to no fault of its own. The Aggies added or improved to national top-10 marks this past weekend with Chevannie Hanson in the 400 (No. 10, 45.72) and NCAA Indoor champion Brandon Miller in his signature 800 (No. 1:47.20). Texas A&M has nine total national top-10 marks, including 200-meter co-national-leader Devon Achane at 20.20.

Nice.

Maybe Aggy will finish better than 7th in the 4x1 this year.

Is this a track thread or football thread?

It’s a thread derailed by inferiority complex from folks who have no real accomplishments to stand on.

OP made a weak claim. I showed my work why it’s wrong. Still a nice transfer.

If he turns out to be a locker room cancer and a headcase, I'm sure yall can add him to your collection of misfits for 2023.

Realistically football is more about the first 5-15. If you can't get distance by then you're usually getting wrapped up. That's why they measure the 10 and 20 yard splits.

How do you hand time 4.19? You need to add.24 to that hand time, at least that's what the track and field professionals do. Now I'll accept the electronic times, but not going to accept a HAND-TIMED 4.19. When they the clock stop? When head leaned in or when his chest crossed the line?

that’s not what holds horns back, it’s the self-entitled lazy players that are high-rated and low-motivated. the kind drawn to the glitz of Austin and the hype that makes every player the Next Coming. It’s why the ‘sips are the perennial kings of “failure to develop talent” no matter WHO the coach is. They attract, and sign, those kind of players.

Fact.

Since none of the A&M fans want to answer you, Achane's 40 is 4.4.

So, slower than Harrel.

Sucks for us. He was expected to be a big part of the offense

Kind of funny how this happened at the last minute, but it is what it is I guess.

Ha! yeah we’re afraid to talk about one of the fastest players in football at any level.

Fact is, his speed is probably #4 on the list of what makes him a GREAT running back.

He aint a track star in pads- he’s a great back with patience, vision, balance, incredible strength-to-size, fumdamentals, and speed.

Rank those in any order and you’d have a
great argument.

It’s why he has a 7.4 ypc average his first two years.
