OU plays a Charmin soft regular season schedule most years. OU will have to toughen up quite a bit to handle playing Florida, LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, and USCe back to back. You have never seen a murders row like the SEC schedule. There is a reason why the SEC has won NCs every decade since 1910 and the Big 8-12 has not.

OU is a good program, but they are coming into a conference that would take your head off if it could (and those are just the fans.) It is a different world than OU is used to, there is no tougher conference.

Every time OU has played an SEC team with a NC on the line, OU has lost, every single time. The Big 12 has never had a team in the CFP win to get to the finals.

There will be 16 teams in the SEC when UT and OU join, yet somehow you think that OU will be a top three SEC team. Florida, LSU and Alabama have all won more than 3 NC since OU won its last two.

I think OU averages a .500 record in their first three years with the SEC. OU is not tough enough right now.

edit to add- it is good to be back, been gone almost two weeks.

Near losses for OU in 2021:
Tulane - 40-35
Iowa State - 28-21
Kansas 35-23 (getting shut out at half)
tu 55-48
Kansas State 37-31
WV - 16-13

Losses
OSU
Baylor

Because you can’t scrape by shitty teams in the SEC like you did in the big 12. Last year y’all would have been 7-5 at best.

There’s no need to explain anything to you

This is something you gotta learn firsthand. Cute, you beat some name-brand SEC programs a few times.

Now beat those same programs week-in and week-out. Once the body blows start to take effect, I’m sure even Vanderbilt will be giving you a run for your money depending on their slot in your schedule.

Takes time to acclimate to get both line of scrimmages up to par. Week after week playing good teams and possibly 2 really good teams and not to mention playing away is just that much tougher. If team not on A game in the least rest assured any team on schedule can beat you. Football just means more to the players, schools, and the fan bases. Everyone always references beating sec schools in bowl games with a month to prepare for a meaningless bowl game.

Get back to us after your 1st season in the league. Sure you will win some but you will also reflect on a couple of loses with a WTF.

Because y’all are not built to actually play a real schedule week in and week out. Your best recruiting class was in 2019 and y’all would have been 6th in the SEC with you and Texas in the conference. Your 1sand 2s can get you through a big 12ish schedule but in the SEC it’s your 3rd string that separates the winners and losers.

Oklahoma has never been in a conference with multiple other schools who recruit at an elite level

For years it was OU/Nebraska, then OU/Texas. Now it’s OU/Bama/LSU/Texas/Georgia/A&M/etc.

Moreover, OU relies on Texas recruits to succeed historically. A&M has lapped them and as soon as Texas has any semblance of success they will as well.

Oklahoma will eventually just be Arkansas

I don’t know that OU will be a middle of the pack team, but they will be playing teams who consistently have more NFL Line of scrimmage talent than they face now. Look at the recruiting footprint, rankings, and NFL rosters. In the last 20 years 5 different SEC teams have won 13 of 20 NC. If you go back 25 years 6 different SEC teams have won the NC.

OU has never had a year, in conference, where they had to play 4-6 of the top all time teams. That changes when you join the SEC.

Instead of the only other team with the resources and commitment to match you in your conference being Texas, you’ll now have:

Bama/UGA/UF/LSU/AU/UT/Texas/Texas A &M

Add in a tier below:
Ark/KY/SC/OM/MSU/Mizzou

You’ll win games but you will find that it is a lot more of a grind and there will be years where you lose 4-5 games if not more.

You realize you've been playing in a two team conference. The SEC is a meat grinder.

OU has beat Auburn by 2tds scores

Auburn’s starting QB broke his arm on the first series. And you only won by two 2 TDs. Small sample size is small.

History has shown and recent history has shown OU will be a top sec team year in and out …
OU has beat Auburn by 2tds scores Florida by 5-6 tds … beaten Tenn two times and have owned A@M for decades….

I heard a UGA and Ole Miss fan say we wouldn’t be no better the mid pack… when UGA beat us by 3 points and Ole moss which hasn’t won more than 10 games one time in school history beat us in 99 in a close game …. This isn’t OU coming out of the John Blake schelleneberger days we are lights years better….

So i won’t all you chumps to go on record right now and tell me on a 3 years average where OU will finish and you know I will be saving this message so don’t talk shite becuase you know I will when proven wrong . OU will be. A top 3 sec program almost every year except the years LSU actually makes it to bowl games and has greatest teams ever .

Recruiting is the key! SEC have too many teams that are way better than those already in the Big 12. Recruiting is what separate SEC from the Big 12! why bother joining the SEC? What is wrong with the Big 12? Are there any good teams that deem worthy in the Big 12?

Somehow you made Trump and Biden agree on something.

Oklahoma will just not be all that great in the SEC...

You are a mid tier big 12 team right now. What makes you think you are going come to the SEC and dominate?

With all due respect, your team acts this way as well to no avail.

Guess it’s a big12 thing and delusions of grandeur…

Let's roll the tape of games that mattered most:

2003: LSU 21, Oklahoma 14
2004: USC 55, Oklahoma 14
2008: Florida 24, Oklahoma 14
2015: Clemson 37, Oklahoma 17
2017: Georgia 54, Oklahoma 48
2018: Alabama 45, Oklahoma 34
2019: LSU 63, Oklahoma 28

Now imagine playing 3-4 teams of that caliber every season, some back to back.

Oklahoma will be top half of the SEC almost every year. Top 5 or 6 most of the time. Win the conference once every 10-12 years. They aren't on the Bama or Georgia level, but will be very competitive other than the big 2. Only way they aren't competitive is if they don't have the donors to hang in the NIL world, not sure how that plays out.
