No troll, just really curious, from Miss. St. fans' perspective, what happened? Decent roster back plus a top class of recruits, right? Did losing the ace hurt that much?

Talent is there. Losing last years rotation hurts along with Sims this year. However, we've got a bunch of guys who now can't throw strikes.

Hitting.... everyone wants to go yard and they don't string line drives together. A bunch of "me" guys not picking each other up. Saturdays line was something like 1 for 15 with a runner on 3rd and 8 million Ks. Game 1 and 2 were actually pitched well enough that we could have taken both games. But not scoring more than 3 in either puts that notion in the shitter.

It's difficult to watch when you know this team could be way better, but implodes from every angle possible.

They do what the MS schools do. They lay low. They dont win anything, they never stay at the top, they stay middle of the road. I'm so tired of people comparing MS to Al. MS teams are a loser and has no history like Alabama in any sport.
The population is right at 3 million vs over 5 for Alabama. MS has a better comparison to like... Montana. If MS didn't have the casinos it would be a 3rd world country.

Damn, dude - don’t be like that. People from Mississippi are great folks - no need to throw shade at them like this.

80% of Alabama fans wouldn’t even know who the baseball coach is if he walked by them in Walmart.
I would guess 40-50% would know the basketball coach.

if you want an honest answer...too many holes left by Cannizaro and Lemonis recruits that didn't make it to school. So, he had to go with too many JUCOs, of which most showed why they were JUCO to start with. Also, we hit like arse, up and down the roster. Landon Sims and Stone Simmons injuries didn't help the pitching staff, any. But, those two pitchers have zero to do with 1-15 with RISP

Congrats on the screened in porch. I spent the weekend mostly outside as well. Gorgeous weather.
