these guys have unbelievable buyouts. I'm not a 'gloom and doomer' fearing a crash like 1929, but its hard to imagine if Hamilton calls the UT deep pocket guys and Jacobs calls the AU deep pocket guys they would all say "hell, yea, getting the checkbook out right now."

Plus, since their programs are self-supporting,hard to see them then going to their season ticket holders and asking for more $$$ next year.

I might be insane, but you have to think the folks who have the big bucks are a little concerned about their personal finanical situations right now.

I can't believe he has a $6 million buyout.

Tubby renegotiated his buyout last year. Its now lower than before, and gets lower each season.

What is his buyout standing at now?

Buyouts are rarely ever paid in full, unless it's a really messy seperation (see rich rod and WVU) . I find it hard to imagine Fulmer and Tennesse would ever reach the point were Fulmer would demand 6 million for not coaching, given the fact that he has played there and coached there for his whole carrer. I think both Fulmer and Tennesse have a little bit more pride and class than rich rod and WVU.

As for Tubs and Auburn, finincial crises or not I don't doubt that if the higher ups think it's time for a change they will pay whatever it costs to send Tubs packing...that is just my opinion of course.
