If you could kick 2 schools out of the conference, who would they be and why?

Serious question. Say re-alignment happened again but this time to trim the fat. (I'm not counting OK or UT because they aren't SEC yet.)

My 2 are Mizzou and Kentucky. They're too far north and just don't really fit. Mizzou is too woke, not really that good at any sports, and aren't even adding a lot academically. UK is an original member but they have mediocre academics, obviously only care about basketball, have awful fans, and have hideous colors.

Aggie and Mizzou…no explanation needed for Aggie…and Mizzou just doesn’t have that SEC feel to them.

I think your arguments are shite, but will play along with the question.

What criteria do you suggest be considered and then objectively assessed?

The SEC is an athletic conference, not a book club.

Ideally it makes money and entertains.

It enhances the college experience.

What else?

And then we can look at some metrics.

Only 2 Id go with Mizzou and A&M obviously but let's not stop there.
Arkie and South Carolina as well.

Lets get back to the real SEC.

MSU: No need for 2 MS schools in a very small market

Vandy: zero commitment to football, Nashville market already taken with UT, SEC has plenty of other academically solid schools with Texas, aTm, UF, and UGA.

Auburn and Tennessee.

But for reason's other than that, in order:

Texas
Oklahoma
Missouri
Texas A&M

Because there was no need to go past 12 anyway.

And if you just want 12 teams without any reference to history or whatever.

Auburn
Texas
Vandy
Missouri

Auburn because they don't add anything. Texas because they think they add 100 times more than they do, Vandy and Missouri because they kind of suck in general.

Vandy and Missouri. Vandy just brings nothing to the conference and Missouri is just not a good fit.

Mississippi State - cuz cowbells are annoying as frick.

Vandy - outside of baseball no athletics. They can go join the nerd league.

Depends on the criteria your looking for.

I think of Overall Athletics, Academics, and TV Markets.

Vanderbilt:

Athletics: Baseball is the only constant can
think of.
Academics: Best in conference
TV Market: Small

Ole Miss:

Athletics: ups and downs in baseball and
football. Has some Natty's in
football from before everyone
on here has been born

Academics: Bottom of the conference
TV Market: Decent size/ Compete Miss.St

Miss St:

Athletics: Success in Baseball
1st Natty. underwhelming.
Academics: Bottom of Conference
TV Market: Decent Size/ Compete w/OleMis

Missouri:

Athletics: 2- Natty, 1-Baseball long ago
up/down football/bball

Academics: towards the top of conference
TV Market: Good Size though smaller than
what you would think

I pick Vandy and one of the Miss. Schools.

Mizzou and Vandy. They both offer very little.
