Seems like they are trying to finalize a Matt Ryan deal before announcing.

What a roller coaster week. Lose 2 Atlanta legends who aren't from here and getting 2 younger superstars who are both from here.

I was watching the NFL network do a piece on this and holy shite. If ATL pulls this trigger, Arthur Blank is sending Matt Ryan out with a middle finger.
Matt Ryan's cap hit this year will be like 30mil+ and then they have to pay Watson. How in the frick can this team afford any of this? We can't. We're killing off the next 2 years for a player who will most definitely be suspended for a half a year or more. Plus he could potentially have crimes in court go against him. This seems fricking silly.

I don't think it's a middle finger to Matt at all.
Why would he agree to delay the 7 mill bonus if the Falcons were disrespecting him?
He needs a contender for the last few good years he has. That's not happening here. I can't name one receiver on the team!
As far as affording it. It can be done. Likely the team will be shite this year as you mention. But it's likely to be shite this year anyway!!

I read that AJ Terrell could be part of the trade too.

Well that's a damn good point too. I didn't look at it that way. I think Matt's a great guy with a great personality BUT if this Watson stuff falls through, it sure seems like it's gonna be an awkward scenario for the FO and Ryan for the next 1-2 years.

What's funny is *IF* ATL gets him, NO fans are gonna find a way to say "we didn't want Watson anyways" or "Look at that creep go to ATL, figures".
However, if Watson goes to NO, Saints fans will be amped and consider themselves SB contenders. Falcons fans will say what "we didn't want Watson anyways", etc.

An absurd run in ATL free agent/trade/transaction history.
Still don't know how I feel about what the Falcons have cooking, but at least the Braves propped open their World Series window for the foreseeable future.

Now ESPN/Schefter saying Watson to Cleveland.

Glad he got paid but fricking hell, how do you navigate 46 for 5 years? We're fricked with MR's hit this year and whatever shenanigans TF pulls.

I dunno how I feel about this for NO and ATL. I'm kinda glad he didn't go to either. I think he could've been really good in NO. I think I would've liked him in ATL but not with all the crap that would've had to happened with Matt Ryan, etc.
Who knows how it all would've gone down but I'm kinda glad to just be over the "Hey I'm Deshaun Watson, now gravel for me, bitch" fiasco the last 1-2 weeks.

My feelings are I hope Matt forces a trade to a team he balls out the last few years of his career and these fans who only give a frick if the QB is black like Vick finally realize what they had. But I won't hold my breath.
Next thing coming is sign kaep.

Matt gets a pass here. Whatever he decides Arthur(s) must do. It's up to Matt.
As far as Deshaun. He was a Falcon and then Cleveland went full retard.
