They've only won one SEC regular season championship in 1994 (28 years ago) and one SEC tournament championship 2000 (22 years ago). I know they have a national and that early 90s run was impressive. But they haven't won anything of significance In what is now over 2 decades.

Only if these forgettable titles are important to you.

I’d take our overall history over either of those titles.

I guess it depends on how much importance you place on conference titles. I would say that most people would argue that final fours and national championships trump anything regarding conference stuff. I think we have the second most conference championship game appearances since we entered the conference. We're second or third, a stat I had no idea about and probably no one else, either, which should hint at the importance. Florida moved squarely into second place history wise during Donavon's run. They were a perennial tournament team that was a threat in March just about every year. Had Richardson won in 95, it'd be a toss up between them and us for second place behind Kentucky.

OP conveniently cut off all of their NCAA tournamnet success, which is what matters in college basketball. I couldn't tell you who even won the Big 10 last year.

Pre 2000 they had a very impressive record and resume

Post 2000 they have been bad with the exception of 1 season. A middle of the pack SEC team for 2+ decades.

1 sweet Sixteen appearance or better since 1997 is hilariously bad

They were in the SEC in 1992. Won the regular season in their first year.

Solid program. Not as great as Hog fans make it out to be,but much, much better than SEC fans acknowledge .

Why don't you make fun of other teams like Tennessee for not having a national championship in over a decade?

They think they're a blue blood despite having fewer NCAA tournament wins and titles than UF.

Even with a long stretch of bad coaches, Arkansas is still behind ONLY Kentucky in the SEC in Final Four appearances.

And 3rd in SEC with National Titles.

Only KY (8) and Florida(2) have more National Titles in the SEC.

Point all you want to bad performances since 2000.

Arkansas has the right coach now, an Elite Eight last year, who knows how far this year, and #2 recruiting class for next year.

Hog basketball is BACK and there is nothing any of you can do about it.

No, their history isn’t overrated.. but at the same time just that, history. They will never be what they once were in the SWC in the SEC.

Only SEC fans care about conference titles in basketball.

Btw, that list shows 3 SEC regular season titles. Arkansas joined the SEC in basketball in 1991.

Was just thinking about this. Their history is overrated asf. They act like they are Kentucky jr or something in BB and it's no where close to being true.

No.

To answer your question:

Which SEC schools would trade “historical success” of their program with Arkansas?

All of them not named Kentucky and Florida.

Look, I love to poke fun at the pigs but basketball success is not an area that they are vulnerable. They are a very good program.

6 Final Fours
94 National Champs
95 Runner Up
78 3rd

Top 15 in every other metric such as NCAA appearances and All Time Win %.

2nd all time win percentage against top 5 teams at home. 60% (12-8)

Overall… Arkansas has a similar history to Syracuse or Michigan but better than Georgetown.

I blame FL's Donovan for recommending Pelphrey , who's hiring was bungled by Broyles and the PTB because of Altman. He almost recruited himself another year but Anderson's then success in the NCAA tournament was just too tempting to Hog fans to thing all he needed was our home court again. He did get us back to a respectable mediocre again, but Muss knew that there was a sleeping monster that was hungry and it's a destination job again. It's been a painful ride for someone who saw half of the games of the 94 season in person and watched it wither for 2 decades.
