The Hump used to be an intimidating place to play. However, our AD completely screwed up the atmosphere when he moved the students behind the basket. There hasn't been an intimidating men's game in there since the Stansbury days. We're making some changes, but I worry if we are sinking to a Georgia level of caring for basketball

It's all about the coach infusing life into basketball programs. If MSU gets a Bruce Pearl type that can attract the right guys to play an exciting brand of basketball, MSU will be fine. Ben Howland basketball-at least the Ben Howland version I've seen at MSU these past few years-is boring.

The half filled Hump reminds me of the Cuonzo Martin years after we went from being one of the more exciting teams under Pearl to perhaps the most boring team in college basketball. Unwatchable non-functioning offensive basketball creates empty seats everywhere in the SEC minus maybe Kentucky.
