I know they are going through renovations, but when I went, Rupp was a letdown. The exterior is nothing short of horrendous. It looked like a FedEx distribution center that is connected to a Hyatt or Hilton. Inside was definitely big, but it felt like a retirement community. Basically, all of Kentucky's blue hairs were in attendance in their blue sweater vests and blue cardigans, and they essentially sat on their hands. It wasn't nearly as loud or raucous as I had expected.

Yeah that crowd age has always been an issue. Rupp is the type of place where all the money and season tickets have been passed down for generations so it’s hard to get new blood down in the lower bowl. The outside is what they’re renovating now.
That’s why our SEC tourney and ncaa crowds are better bc the younger fans that can’t all get into Rupp show up at those tournaments.
