Stegeman is better, but that’s not saying much. While they have done some nice things inside over the last 10 years, it’s still very subpar. Nothing would say we are building a new program, like building a new arena….instead of putting lipstick on a pig

Stegman is old. It was built in the 60s. I may be wrong (and too lazy to research it) but I think it was originally built for the ag department to show off cattle, not for basketball. They had a rodeo there when I was in school. I think that's why it's "U" shaped. There used to be a pen for cattle just outside.
While I would miss it for sentimental reasons (like memories of climbing to the top), the best way for UGA to show they're serious about basketball is to destroy that dinosaur and build a new facility.
