it was a good bounce back win. good for Sanders to get to 5-1. 9K 3BB 71 strikes/109 pitches.

11 walks 3 wp & 1 hbp was the good fortune the offense needed. Kingston teams of years past would've struck out 15+ times instead of letting UGA pitchers fail - so Caillet gets credit today for that.

using Becker today clearly changes everything for tomorrow. does it signal a change of having Becker in to close behind both Hall/Sanders going forward - in a Brett Kerry type role to affect more than one game in a series? a lot of that is certainly dependent on Carolina's inconsistent ability to score more than a couple runs per game, just like with Kerry.

I have no illusions this team is gonna transform into anything other than what it already is. hopefully they can somehow get 10 conference wins and then if tough decisions have to be made end of May/June so be it.

Carolina outscored Georgia this weekend 24-23 yet lost the series.

kinda sums up Kingston's program.

->

updated SEC batting avg under Kingston

2022 .214
2021 .246
2020 no SEC / .272 overall
2019 .236
2018 .280

Kingston's team has been outscored 83/59 and outhit 118/81.

Brandt Belk has 19 of USC's 81 hits with a .422 SEC average. only big hoss Sonny Dichiara/AUB has a higher SEC avg at .429

the rest of Kingston's lineups are 62/333 (.186) at the plate in league play.
