I have something to watch that we are actually good at instead of Mike White looking lost on a basketball court taking L’s from teams who haven’t won in a month.

Baseball Schedule

Let’s hope O’Sullivan gets us back on track after going 0-2 and BBQ in our own Regional last year.

Definitely a disappointing end to last season, let's hope we can make some noise this year.

Napier threw out the first pitch tonight. i've seen better form. he was a QB afterall. not a pitcher. it turned out to be a nice strike though.

Just saw that all 3 projected starters in the weekend rotation are lefties. Interesting.

Last night was fun to watch, kinda feel like we should've blown the doors off more than we did with the way Stetson was playing but a comfortable win is nice.
Ficarrotta looked good out there, hopefully he's someone that can work his way into more games. And it was nice to see the bullpen all step up and pitch well.
Sterlin Thompson with 3 HRs thru 4 games, wow.

Frick Miami!

Not that I ever need a reason to say that, but kicking their asses this weekend is a good reason to say it.

When it rains, it pours. As good as they played last weekend against Arkansas, it’s a totally different team that got off the plane in Nashville this weekend.

Starting pitching has really struggled and the bullpen hasn’t been any better. Vandy has 23 hits in 2 games, and our staff has given up 11 BB’s on top of that. 152 pitches last night (61% strikes) and 163 pitches tonight (57% strikes) is pretty rough. We’re not getting ahead in early in counts and end up having to throw “hitters count” pitches. Offense is scoring runs and keeping us in games, but they can only do so much. Riopelle hit 3 bombs tonight, but then we’ve got other guys going 0-4 with 4 K’s. Some of the at-bats tonight were hard to watch. It seemed like the later in the game it got, the more some guys seemed to be guessing, pressing, and may not have even had a plan at the plate.

I get that sometimes it’s just not your day. That’s baseball. That’s life. But it feels like the stars are going to have to align in order for this team to put enough pieces together to get good outings from our SP’s and enough runs to mitigate the bullpen.

Well…tough season. I will say they did a little better than I thought they’d do after Barco’s injury. I didn’t see how we would even make a regional, much less host one.

This team was young, but had so many chances to make things happen and just couldn’t do it. Sometimes teams just aren’t able to come through enough in the clutch, and that was us all year.

Next year this team won’t have the excuse of being young. It’s time for Sully to get us back to the Supers at a minimum, and Omaha should be the expectation. We have too many good players not to regularly be in the hunt.

Sully is already making moves, so we’ll see how they pan out.
