You wish it would be so easy to turn the fault and bad PR from Auburn to Harsin but you are a fool if you think it will happen.

I don't care, Auburn deserves the hit. I think Harsin deserves way more of a hit than he is getting. Hell, some Auburn fans feel bad for him when he wasn't even doing basic aspects of his job

Because the vast majority don’t buy the Auburn spin. As noted it’s Auburn that will get the most blame and bad PR

How was the HC at Boise for 7 years without major issue?

Ark St almost fired him after a year for being awful with the media and to work for.

Coaching turnover has been an issue everywhere he went because he is so difficult to work for

Boise guy on JOX just now went pretty scorched earth on him, saying he felt like he was too good to be bothered with most things and people only mean anything to him if they help him personally. Offense declined every year under him.

Lazy or inept recruiter, maybe both

If he is so bad, do you actually trust the group that hired this guy to hire the next coach? I don't see any way Auburn finds itself in a better position this fall by making a change right now.

He’s asking for more than his buyout?

Say what

Why make up something like this? I don’t think you understand how these things work or maybe you could come up with a more believable lie.

Local guy and Boise alumnus, much less of a media presence around the football program compared to the SEC, and he took over a program Petersen had turned into a well oiled machine. I'm not saying there weren't any issues with him in Boise, but it was also an environment where any issues that existed were much less likely to be made into a big deal.

I've seen it mentioned that he wants $21m instead of the $18m buyout, I'm guessing because of "damages to his reputation". I didn't make it up, but its likely someone did

I don't buy that at all. If he is this terrible of a guy doing all these things there would be problems, regardless if he's local or it's a small place

This situation says as much about Auburn as it does about Harsin.

There isn't any spin. You have 3 different schools saying he sucks as a person and has huge deficiencies that make it hard for him to be good at his job

This. The media there gets shut out if they run negative things on Harsin. And the local market just really doesn't care about CFB on the level that we do here.

I’ll play along. Let’s say this was true.

There would be no reason He would leave that situation and control. Especially to go to Auburn where he would know of the environment.

And don’t say for more money. It’s not that simple, IF things were as you say back in Boise.

I thought HArsin left because Boise was not making enough headway in terms of a better conference?

I'm not saying there weren't issues with him at Boise. I'm saying that between him being a Boise guy, there being less media attention around the program, and the fact that he took over a winner and kept stacking up the Ws, people were much more likely to just look the other way. No one wants to rock the boat when the team is winning unless it's something like the Baylor scandal, and Harsin being an abrasive jackass isn't even remotely comparable to that.

In his current situation he's an outsider, SEC football is a massive media draw, and he went 6-7 while signing a lackluster recruiting class. So yeah, any issues with him are going to end up getting magnified in those circumstances.

To clarify, for all I know he's a great guy who just sucks at recruiting and is being railroaded by a bunch of rich douchebag boosters. I'm just saying that if he really is a massive douchebag it makes sense that it wouldn't have become front page news in Boise.

I have no idea why he left.

I’m just pointing out that if everything were like the post above said about him, he would not leave a place that if that is what was required for him to be the kind of coach they’re stating him to be.

No, this is what we’ve been telling you all along BUT it was an Auburn hire, which, in the eyes of everything Auburn, can not be wrong. We have been snickering behind your back all year long while you had the “holier than thou” expression on your face.
