Some AU fans think it was a ploy by boosters to fire Harsin

If that is so, it's undermining your own program, and if Harsin survives this, and it's looking like he may, then he's going to be working for an administration that didn't have his back, and boosters that wanted to get rid of him.
Weird situation.
Weird situation.

Business as usual for the backwoods BBQ gang down there. They did the same shite to Tubs.

Responding to your thread title, “And water is wet.”
Someone nailed it in another thread title here yesterday: “Nobody, but nobody, can cut a coach’s throat like Auburn boosters.”

Of course that’s what it is. Does anybody really believe otherwise?

It would seem to me that if he survives the coup, then he DOES have administration support. My guess is that he won’t survive it. We have a new university President coming in May so it’ll be interesting to how and if that shakes things up or settles things down.

Strange timing how the news breaks right after Harsin lays an egg on NSD.

Well....yeah.
Auburn boosters have always had more control over their athletic department than any other school in the SEC, maybe the country.

I agree with them. The narrative went from a affair, to abusing players, then to the race card, and now it seems to be fizzling out. It’s a weird situation all around

Harsin can’t recruit nor win anyway. Ask Auburn fans how our Junior Day did.

Nothing unusual, remember the plane to Louisville for Petrino to unseat Tubbs?

Maybe. But it is nothing new for that bunch. Cutting off their noses to spite their faces because their ego got hurt is their default. It is what they do.
You don't have to go too far back in time to find the same type meddling. Hell, that trip really wouldn't be worth firing up the time machine.

Here is what little I was told and what else has been reported by people not named Phillip Marshall: It was/is an attempt by a little group of power brokers to try to force Harsin out so courageously while he was on vacation. There was agenda set by a fat, slobbery beat writer from 24/7 due to false info that he had been fed to set this up. The President is investigating all of this now but it seems to go back to the same butthurt bastards that tried to install Kevin( lol ) Steele as HC after Gus was fired. This is an inside job for sure

there's no way they stoop that low to manufacture a fake rumor about a 20 something year old girl. those dudes aren't going to risk a defamation lawsuit. They could obviously find a less risky and easier reason to fire him.

What weird about this is just about everyone on the rant knew Harsin wasn't that good, yet Auburn AD went on to hire him anyway. This is the same exact situation with Arkansas when the AD hired Chad Morris that just about everyone on the rant knew Morris wasn't a good HC.

So he's the Auburn head football coach? I don't see how anything has changed for him.
