There are a lot of options so I guess anything is possible you picked the wrong ones. As stated there are almost 100k students in the area so they have an awful lot that caters to them. There are also some solid Tex Mex and BBQ places to go with a broad variety of restaurants.

I think Athens is a better pure college town for sure but it's about half the size so it's a little different dynamic. Athens is also prettier for sure.
