I honestly don’t think this Bama roster is great. Somewhere between solid and good and I think the hinge was JQ stepping up and becoming a true star. And he’s been terrible. In the meantime I’m not sure why this team doesn’t play through Keon Ellis a little bit more. He might not be the type to take the bull by the horns and just go do that but that might be where Oats could step in.

Bama still in a great spot under Oats and I think this team still has plenty of time to find itself.

We played great early on and got some breaks … unfortunately I think we have found ourselves . Just not a sense of urgency by most of the team. Got a couple that give you what they have every night but the majority , and ones we are counting on, do not . Just in a tough spot

I can't help but laugh that the most rational, well informed post on a basketball thread on a Bama board is from an Auburn fan. The FoGs don't frick around.

This team has zero leadership. Quin has played inefficient and hasn't stepped up as a leader. Shack is still the same guy, just with more of a role, and Davisson is much more raw than people expected (2A Bama basketball with travel ball cancelled because covid, so not a huge surprise).

Ellis is our best player, but is an off ball player. Our front court just sucks. Bediako is sushi raw. Rojas tries, but is an offensive liability. And Gurley looks like a bust. Miles is improved, but still not a P5 starter level player.

Overall, our defense is terrible. We can't keep guys in front of us, get dominated in the post, and suck at grabbing things l rebounds and allowing second chance points.

I think it's funny the same people laughing at Auburn and Pearl last year, and saying Oats sucks and we should've gotten Pearl. Yes, it's been a disappointing season so far. If they don't get their shite together, they'll miss the tournament. That doesn't mean Oats is a shitty coach. But that's not something I'd expect a FOG to understand.
