The board has been like this since at least December 2011. The only difference between then and now is that there were more good posters back then. Majority of posts were still bad
I will say the board was far more tightly moderated back then. The flame/trolling rule was absolutely enforced- lack of enforcement is probably why everyone gtfo'd
