Too bad Drew can't play TE.

No reason to blame him. He was content to wait his turn until Allen got hurt. Then he got passed on the depth chart by a freshman. It’s not about “waiting your turn” when the person you’re waiting on is younger

Can’t blame him for not wanting to watch 31 and 15 from the bench for another year. He was good but not great. Wish him the best.

Drew Sanders was starting to turn the corner from being good too great. Pruitt would of found a way to use all three of them at the same time.

You're right. Sanders was playing every phase of the game well...not just rushing the qb. He's the most complete LB and best all-around athlete on that defense.

Sanders is more of a classic 4-3 SAM or WILL. In our system he needed to add another 10 or so pounds and play WILL. He did not have the mass or power to excel as a hand in the dirt edge rusher / edge setter. But as an athlete, he is off the charts. Add 15 pounds and he would be the TE we needed this past year.

I’ve always said that Sanders was a T.E. He is. That’s his NFL position

Yep, wish he would have stayed and switched to TE. His life though, he needs to pursue his dreams. We are more than fine at OLB moving forward.

This is just a guess but I think Sanders is transferring because he doesn’t want to move inside. Inside LBs don’t get drafted as high as edge rushers. I think the coaches want him to move inside but his dad is concerned about his draft stock dropping.

All I know is the kid can play and it's a shame he's moving on. I agree that a little creativity would produce a package where all 3 rushers are on the field in passing situations. What a nightmare for QB's. I wish nothing but the best for Drew and hope he finds a place to pursue his goals outside the SEC. Do not want to face him on the opposition.

I think Saban wanted Sanders at TE but Sanders had his heart set on LB. Wish the coaches would try to convince him to stay and try TE where we are hurting.

Wait what nothing. There is no better athlete especially all round athlete on Bama’s defense. Will is the best football player and also an excellent athlete but Drew is the best athlete Bama has on defense. He was rated the top athlete in the country the year he came out of h.s. And he’s shown excellent speed, strength, size, toughness and intelligence from day one on campus.

Name a better athlete Bama has on defense...the only possible debate is Will.

Will Anderson is without a doubt a more complete LB, which was the main thing I was "wait what"ing.

So is Dallas Turner considering he took his job.

If that is the case then how did Turner beat him out for the job?

Oh ok, nevermind. You're just one of those.

I said Athlete and Will isn’t a more complete Lber than Drew either. He’s an edge rusher very similar in play as the Bosa’s...hand on the ground, edge.

You also said LB

For one, they literally play the same position on opposite sides. For two, Will is an absolute monster in the run game and in pass rush, slides down inside and plays out wide without his hand in the dirt.

Will is absolutely a more complete linebacker than Drew Sanders. That's absurd.

Let's be honest, if Saban asked Will to move inside next season and he spent all offseason learning the position he'd 100% look like prime Hightower.
