Cajun culture is completely different than Southern culture.
It’s hard to explain by writing a post. I guess you just need to experience the two separately to see how different they actually are.

BR isn't redneck. Kelly is a pro. He will do fine.

LSU is a better program than Ohio State. We have more natty’s in modern college football. The browns suck as usual. Deal with it.

While you're "dissing " BR and the South, where ere you 14 years ago today????

You have to live here for a few years to understand.

The SEC is good. LSU is good + Hot Sauce + Soul + French Culture and Passion. PF needs to get out more and get a life and/or toupee.

It means that Ed Orgeron was such a bad head coaching hire, the only way they could sell it was by pushing the “one of us/great culture fit” talking point. Now the media knows nothing other than “durr, it takes a special culture fit to work well at LSU.”
Dale Brown, Skip Bertman, Nick Saban, Les Miles...
None of them were from this part of the country. They all did just fine. It’s a lazy, lazy talking point for the media.

Finebaum is a tool and Saban worshipper. Saban did just fine in BR and BK will to.

I’m from alabama, my husband is from Baton Rouge. When we go to visit family I definitely get a different vibe down there. It’s very different from anywhere else in the country, not just the south. I think it says more about YOU that you can’t pick up on that vibe. Guessing you are pretty lame.

South Louisiana was settled from the coast in by the French and Spanish, the latter of which allowed a variety of immigrants to settle in Louisiana, including may Irish, Germans, and Italians. They were mostly Catholic and eventually nearly all spoke French.
North Louisiana (with the exception of Natchitoches) was settled by Americans moving west from the Carolinas, Georgia, and Virginia. They were mostly Protestant and spoke English.
Even the slave population of the regions was distinctly different, as they mirrored the European settlers.
So yes, Louisiana south of Alexandria is culturally unique compared to the rest of the South. This is why there is an "Upper South", "Lower or Deep South", and "Gulf Coast Region". Baton Rouge does, however, had a bit of influence from the Piney Woods region of Mississippi.
