A shite ton of A&M and LSU alum live and work together. Both are land grant colleges regularly collaborating on many items and trading faculty from the beginning. The first football game between LSU and A&M was in 1899. It's been a natural rivalry for over a century.

Contrary to what many tools on this board claim, you’re absolutely correct. This fake rivalry is merely on this board.

It's OK to not have a primary rival. As some have said, LSU-Tulane was the in state rivalry and final game of the season til the series ended around 1990. LSU-Ole Miss was a rivalry from the 40s to 80s. Alabama owns us for the most part so while it's been the game of the year over the last decade, Alabama has 1-2 other bigger rivals.

A&M-LSU is a natural rivalry and a long series but Texas will always be their main one. Arkansas-LSU never really took off even though they are neighbors and similarly the only big programs in their states.

LSU folks, it's OK that we don't have a main rival. Stop trying too hard.
