First, this is a great thread. Thanks OP.
My path to UGA fandom was a little different than most of yours...
I grew up in Karachi, Pakistan, and came to UGA as an International student in 1988. Had never seen a football game until then, and during my time at UGA went to only one game. Was too busy working at Gumby’s delivering pizzas to support myself and cramming classes. I graduated in 1992 with a BBA and a MAcc.
Went to NYC for my first job (I love big cities
) and ended up moving back to ATL after a few years, and that is when I really started getting into UGA football. Hard not to with all the Alumni in the area. I even got my self a “Football for Dummies” book so I could understand the game better.
After attending Emory for my MBA, I spent a good 15 years in Atlanta and the surrounding areas as an entrepreneur in the restaurant industry, and now live in NYC where I run a couple of hospitality focused businesses.
I watch nothing as intensely as a GA football game. My wife says she has never seen me sweat as profusely as when I watch the Bulldogs play, not even after a work out! I know I will be off the charts next Monday.
Would love to see that championship trophy in our hands....Go Dawgs!!
