If you're the parents of a 5-star QB with NFL skills and aspirations, do you want to trust Kirby with your kid's future? Kirby clearly is of an old school vein that doesn't want the QB to be central. He also hasn't done well with QB's who aren't, well, small town good 'ol boy. Maybe he likes those who he sees as similar to himself?

If I'm Arch Manning or his parents, I'm sure I'm wondering if this is the place to launch myself into the NFL as a QB. Stafford was the last true NFL caliber QB we recruited and kept...and that pre-dated Smart.

Hopefully Vandagriff or Stockton are the real deal.

Arch didn't exactly light things up and definitely didn't live up to the rankings, but then again that name is what wins games.

Same old soundbite.

This totally ignores the fact that JT was named our starter this year until he was hurt, plus he played the final 4 games of last year based on his performance and not his geographical origin.

Or QBs that get injured and lose their spot (Eason, JT), aren’t willing to work or put in the time to earn their spot (Fields) or flat out quit (Newman).

We don’t need another primadonna that expects to be given the job rather than being prepared to earn it.
