Aside from Clemson, we didn’t play a game that was ever much in doubt. My point is we knew last year what Stetson’s ceiling and limitations were, but we turned to him this year I guess because he was the “safe” option. I’ll give you that he played better this year, but at the end of the day he’s a slightly built quarterback with a limited skillset and questionable decision making. Beck could have been better. The same. Or worse. I’d rather know for sure than stick with “safe” guy

No. We knew last year what THE TEAMS limits were without a mature offense and a defense just starting to gel. Last year Monken had a QB (not named Stetson Bennett IV) to develop an offense for that left the team a couple of weeks before the season started. Then we had a backup QB that was totally inept that got thrown in as the starter.
Luckily we had a 3rd string QB that knew the system very well but had not practiced with the offense all spring and summer. He saved us in the Arkansas game and was undefeated until he faced the #1 team and eventual NC winner. He then was injured in the Florida game or he might have led us to victory. Finally, JT was healthy enough to win against the weakest part of our 2020 schedule. We also had Carson Beck. Why did he not start any games? Can't be because he was a true freshman because we've started freshmen before.
THAT'S what we knew last year.
IF JT is healthy physically and mentally, then our HC and OC have a reason to not start him, and until they reveal it to us we should accept that they know what they are doing.
