This hasn’t been an amateur sport for a long long time now. This has been a major revenue generating sport and players have been getting paid since at least the 60s, albeit under the table.
I believe players have the right to capitalize off their achievements and talents since they are responsible for about 90% or more of the product on the field

Well, let the programs start cutting any players they see fit without repercussion. Remove their scholarships. Players seem to want all the cake and icing too. Let them have a taste of the real world.
If players can get paid for participating in amateur sports, then they should be able to get released. Don't hide it anymore.
