I can't think of any other big jobs that were open at the time so Saban probably stays in the NFL for at least another year.

Had Rich Rod said yes, Saban likely would have stayed with Miami another year, then signed as HC of Michigan in 08. And college football would look radically different.

Imagine if Miami's medical staff clears Drew Brees and he goes there instead of the Saints.

Saban likely stays in Miami and puts on a run there and Saints stay like the Lions.

Hell without that successful run by the Saints, does Benson try to move the team to San Antonio after Goodell becomes commish?
