As others in this thread have already pointed out, BoB has been limited in some ways by the horrific OL we have trotted out on occasion. However, being as he is the OC, I can't just give him a free pass on that. The OL falls under his jurisdiction too.

My main issue with O'Brien is that it feels like he scripts the entire game ahead of time and then does not deviate from that script, no matter what the defense is doing. Opposing coaches (at least the ones not named Kirby Smart) have figured out by now that the best way to slow down our offense is to blitz the hell out of Young on every play. Of course, the best way to fight the blitz is by calling screens and draws and/or by having hot routes that your QB can check to if he sees the blitz is coming. We do literally none of those things. I am pretty sure we haven't run a single screen pass or draw all year. We just keep trying to run the same plays that we always run. It is infuriating to watch at times.

So yes, BoB is going to have a Heisman winner this year. The offense has put up tons of points and yards. Give Young, Williams and co. time and they will score all over you. However, it is also clear that he can be outfoxed, and relatively easily at that. His in-game adjustments are arse. His offense has been almost completely shut down twice this year, by teams that really had no business being on the same field as us. That is on him.

Basically he is the Pete Golding of offensive coordinators. Usually his scheme works fairly well, but occasionally there are games where his side of the ball looks completely lost.
