Reading comprehension much?

I made a post a week ago owning most of what you typed up. I never said he was a bad coach but we all know we got lucky with Florida and definitely Auburn. The guys had the right attitude and scratched and clawed their way. We lose those two games next season bigly. Because we have 0 fawking Offense. He's not a long term solution and if anyone else wanted him, they'd have easily taken him.

From 2 months ago:
Nick Saban, Alabama: $9,753,221 — No. 1
Ed Orgeron, LSU: $9,012,917 — No. 2
Dan Mullen, Florida: $7,570,000 — No. 6
Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M: $7,500,000 — No. 7
Kirby Smart, Georgia: $7,133,600 — No. 8
Mark Stoops, Kentucky: $5,263,600 — No. 15
Bryan Harsin, Auburn: $5,000,000 — No. 19
Mike Leach, Mississippi State: $5,000,000 — No. 20
Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss: $4,841,937 — No. 21
Josh Heupel, Tennessee: $4,000,000 — No. 35
Eli Drinkwitz, Missouri: $4,000,000 — No. 36
Sam Pittman, Arkansas: $2,925,000 — No. 54
Shane Beamer, South Carolina: $2,750,000 — No. 58

Pretty clear we give no fricks about winning or investing in winning.

So you believe the amount we pay a coach determines our desire for success?

Did we not just get into a mess by overpaying a guy who had zero business being our HC?

looking at this list I see many new coaches down towards the bottom. Sam Pittman, Eli, Heupel. I cant honestly believe the amount you pay a coach determines how good he is.

now youll probably say that just means that if he was/is a good coach that some school would offer him 5mil and steal him. I am sure some schools want a wait and see period of 3 or 4 years before they honestly try to offer him big money. That doesnt mean it wasnt a good hire. Heck Kiffin is only at 4.8 mil, He is a good coach, why did no one offer him 8 and steal him. It doesnt always work that way. Beamer wants to be here

Florida was not lucky, a 20 point win isnt lucky, they just played like trash for the last half the year. Auburn we were lucky that Bobo didnt run the ball on 4th down, but we played pretty well that game. We deserved to win that game. for reference Auburn paid 5 mil for a guy to pull Bobo away from us. Great investment

I do get we dont always agree on things, but saying this was a dog shite hire after year one was an overall success is a little strange to me. Looking at Ray's hires, I am at about a 50% hit rate for him. Holbrook was a good hire, he ended up being a dogshit coach, but he was rated the top assistant. I still think Kingston was a good hire, its debateable but I like the hire so far, especially over monte Lee. Will Muschamp was not a good hire, but I think Beamer could end up being just what SC needs. give it time.

* Tanner is a shite AD though, for the record not saying he is good.

Pittman, it should be noted, is likely to get PAID after this season and how he drug Arkansas back from the pits of hell.

He was, however, a big reach as a coach. Yet, despite playing the toughest schedule in college football, we won 8 games and are going bowling. Two years ago we were had not won an SEC game in two years. He's earned his upgrade.

So salary does not a coach make. You hired Beamer on a very similar "we are swinging for the fences so we aren't paying top dollar" approach. Well now it seems like it was a pretty good hire. There is nothing wrong, and a lot right, with hiring someone cheap and then bumping up their salary when they show you they can do the job.
