I’ve been going to auburn games my whole life, yesterday was probably the worst crowd for a big SEC game I can remember. And it was Jawja! It was like you could tell from the outset the crowd felt there was no chance of winning. And the upper deck was somewhat sparse in terms of attendance. It was kinda depressing to be honest.

What? The place was rocking until about half time. By then we realized we have no offense so it's hard to get pumped and stay loud when your D is on the field 80% of the time

Eta what deck? I was in the upper west and it was packed in my area

Both decks were empty in all corners and the East deck (where I was) was sparse overall. Crowd got up for a couple third downs but from the beginning just was not what I’ve come to expect from a JHS crowd. Guess lots of drubbings from our rivals have affected it

You're the first and only person I've seen say this. You could even tell on television that place was packed and loud. I'm sure it thinned out after the kill shot in the 3rd qtr by the walk-in QB to the short white WR. But that's to be expected.

I agree.

I was there in the upper deck, and the students and the crowd noise was strong and always loud and on our feet.

It only started to dwindle when GA just started to pound the ball towards the end of the 3rd qtr, and eventually went up more than 2 scores.

But there was nothing wrong with the crowd noise. And yes, the corners were empty, but that was it.

Completely false.

I was there and it was electric for a day game.

It stayed that way until half when it was clear our offense could not score.

It was the teams fault that the crowd got quiet.

There were some empty seats for such a big game. The crowd brought it, we left 14 points on the field in the first half. 4 in first drive, 3 on the Turniver and 3-7 on the non PI

I felt it was that way too. I was 23 rows up in the lower bowl and it was seemingly quiet from my perspective.

It was pretty loud through the first half. Granted, I've heard it louder, but only at the end and if we were in a tight one with Jawja or in the IB.

I agree with what was said about knowing what was coming, etc.

But, I think the digital tickets are also a problem and the main reason you see open seats splotched throughout the main sections. People can’t just walk up and by by a ticket and fill in those holes. Also, the fees tacked on by StubHub and other secondary markets suck.

Face value is $150. If they were going for $160 on the secondary market, you are looking at $400 to get 2 people in just to sit in the nosebleeds.

This. This. This. This. Prices are getting absurd now and the digital transfer thing is a big hassle, at least from my understanding. The watch-at-home experience continues to improve as well so it’s hard to justify shelling out $600+ and 12+ hours to see your team get spanked when you can spend $70 on wings and pizza for the whole fam and watch on a big screen from the comfort of your recliner.

Maybe if we start showing up against rivals it will make a difference. I still wish tickets weren’t so expensive though, I think that’s affecting things a lot too.

I’m from a time when uga fans would start filling out of the stadium midway of the 4th quarter. But AU going 4-13 in recent meetups… It is what it is.

This game hasn’t been a priority since the early 90’s.

Maybe I’m just a tech loving millennial, but if I want to go to a game the fact I have to use a digital ticket isn’t going to stop me. Also, I think I saw that if you want a physical ticket you could go to ticket office and get one.

ETA: I think price is more of a reason. It’s hard for me to justify making the trip down and pay for everything when I can sit on my couch, watch every game that day, smoke/cook something, and not pay an extra cent.

I'm a tech hating Gen-Xer and the digital thing has, and will, keep me from going to some games. Can't get them on my flip phone. Always just bought tickets outside the stadium and can't do it anymore.

From my talking with fans in before the game most knew we just don’t have the horses to win that game. Literally at the WR/OL positions of

Yeah I mean I’m the OP here and I certainly was less enthusiastic than normal so I guess I’m telling on myself to a degree haha
