An idea I have not seen discussed as much as I would expect. Is this THAT crazy of a concept? Maybe Gus is slowplaying everyone else because he thinks Woody can come in and be the guy from day 1. Everything I've seen from Woody, he does not lack in confidence. Sure, he'll be small, won't know the playbook. But we did ok with a guy who didn't get here til August one time, and Woody's tape is

Has Gus ever started a true frosh at any of his schools?

Why? Because of the supreme talent we currently have at the position?

QB is definitely the question this year.

I think Woody is immensely talented, probably more so than anyone on the roster. I used to think that was JJ but then last year happened. He also seems like he as a very good head on his shoulders, and is a grinder to put in work.

If we're left with what we CURRENTLY have on campus, that position will be troublesome all year

Throwing Woody into the fire this year would be a mistake

It'll be Jeremy Johnson again. Gus will take his stubbornness all the way to the unemployment line.

Most of the time I agree that putting someone in too early is a mistake. Gus has done this a couple times I can remember. When he used to try to put Khiel in during drives with one read, which was bound for failure. That shite was terrible.

However, if woody shows up ready to kick arse, I'm all for it. He will make freshman mistakes, but the rest of the guys will make mistakes cuz they suck

It really is a great video. When Woody said, "My dad told me I could be whatever I wanted to be if I put my mind to it. From that day on it was on"

judging by the way the last few highschool qb experiments have gone

Trotter - meh
Moseley - meh
Wallace - meh
Frazier - meh
JJ - meh
White - okay/could be better

for some reason I don't feel to excited for woody

Relative to the others? I guess one could say Sean is the most ready, but I don't think he has the ability we want or need

I don't think any of the others you mentioned have the drive and mental fortitude that I see from Woody.

I thought Frazier was the second coming of Christ, but his mind was softer than baby poo

Inserting a TF QB into the starting lineup with only half of a playbook( because he doesn't have the whole playbook down) and a month's worth of practice can be devastating to the player's morale. That's quite a gamble.

I thought it was a good topic. this guy is our hope for a miracle this year. he does seem to have a confidence about him that I never saw in any of those guys we have deemed as failures. I hope he was watching our spring game and shows up in game shape just in case.
