Why didn't Chizik just say it wasn't true?

In talking about the Sheridan's investigation "claim," all he had to do was say that it wasn't true and all the coaches are still recruiting. Instead, he gets agitated and says he doesn't have time for that stuff?
What the frick? The guy really can't get fired fast enough.

He's running the program straight in the ground. Man, 2010 seems like forever ago.

Well, what was he supposed to say.. The best lies take a little truth and then make a big deal about them..
As we learned during the Cam allegations, we have been trained to say "no comment"..
Plus there is some truth to it, but is for secondary violations...
Plus so if we fire the staff, it is for secondary violations and not the record. (I think this is over Trooper and Luper visiting Winston last year when we told the NCAA we would not)
-----------From the enemy------- but worth a read---
Sheridan's NCAA contacts tell him that a Letter of Inquiry and formal investigation are imminent. The preliminary phase has ended and recruiting irregularities may have occurred that warrant a full Enforcement investigation.
Both Sheridan and the NCAA understand that two unnamed assistants have been removed from off-campus recruiting activities, but they are still allowed to contact recruits via telephone and electronically.
Sheridan would not say which specific recruits, coaches or parts of the country were at the heart of the matters in question.
He said there is a high likelihood that Auburn University “cleans house,” meaning that everyone associated with Auburn football—from the athletic director all the way to “special advisers” to the program—will be dismissed.
Sheridan also said that NCAA President Mark Emmert has been on a warpath against what he believes are programs that calculate risk-reward ratios in deciding how closely to follow NCAA rules, and that Auburn University (among others) should be fearful of the new attitude in Indianapolis.

because he currently represents AU. If he states a definite "This is not true", then it's as if AU itself is saying it. It gives the university zero room to maneuver if and when anything ever comes out..

This needs to happen whether there is an investigation or not, but don't just stop with the football program. The bball and baseball programs need to be cleaned out too

I'll give you baseball, but not basketball. I believe we're on the verge of becoming good under Barbee. Can't cut him off now.

Why would a "credible" journalist repeat allegations made by a bottom-feeder like Danny Sheridan? It was nothing more than a gotcha-question and any answer Chizik provided would have been twisted to fit the agenda of the reporters
I've never been a NTY conspiracy type but why is Don Kausler, one of the last respectable journalist at working in the Alabama media covering Danny Sheridan at the TUSCALOOSA QB Club meeting discussing NCAA violations against Auburn
Even if there is a smidgen of truth to the allegations, coming from this bunch it seems more like a desperate ploy for attention

I wouldn't give that shite stain the time of day either.

Just for reference, Auburn did pay out Wayne Hall's contract, we stopped paying him in the year 2000, LINK
Still does not stop the mullet nation from believing it...
Also, IF you can stomach it, you can listen to Danny S. here... Amazing this is getting any traction whatsoever. LINK

I just don't understand why this arse bag is allowed to spew bs about our University. I don't get why someone doesn't shut him up.
