The best part is he is only going to get better. I'm happy to have been wrong and look forward to seeing him again.

What about the play where he rolled out and still looked down field to hit RL deep early in the game. White has an awareness about him that cannot be taught.

I'm really not sure what people were seeing before last night that made them convinced that White "clearly" wasn't a guy that could lead the team. He is a freshman that has 3 games under his belt now, he could become a really good quarterback for us but our playcalling still is lacking a lot. We need to figure out a way to run the ball without the read option.

I liked when we stacked Pettway, Roc and Barber in the backfield at the same time and ran a lot of misdirection, I think that is the biggest key to our offense. Misdirection and motions. It was also nice to see us hurry several times during the game.

Yep, this x 100. We're going to have a low ceiling unless we figure this out. Sean played great and definitely cemented himself as the starter. A good defense probably shuts us down last night though. We need more out of the running game.

No doubt. He sure doesn't look like a Rs freshman.

We also went under center more times last night than I can ever recall Gus doing. Maybe we throw in a few more wrinkles like the toss sweep and play some power football. It's not there yet, but I can definitely see some play action passes coming out of it too

Or actually run the read option. What is the point of faking it every play and having White run down the field? Seems like wasted energy to me.

Snowboard Cam is our QB now. That race was won last night. he played a very good game. Clutch in several situations. That 1st quarter scramble/completion on 3rd down and long was excellent.

what we need to do is teach Kerryon to throw the ball some. Then run him at wildcat.

I will defend white a little bit on that, he is having to process of stuff with no game time up to it. Had he been able to come in for clean up duty and did nothing but simple package passes or read options and got comfortable at the same time, he would improve leaps and bounds. Right now he is getting used to the game speed while having plays piled on him while having to put up with split reps and a quarterback competition.

The best thing to happen right now is for Gus to leave JJ alone, give white 100% of first team reps and get him grooving with those guys without compromise. I wouldn't put it past Gus to have another quarterback competition this week though.

At around 200 pounds, I don't think you want White keeping it too much and taking a beating. Right now he is the best qb we have and we need him to be upright by seasons end.

That and learning to run the read will take some time. Nick Marshall was horrible at it the first few games of 2013.

Turnover ratio. JJ made it pretty easy. There's nothing more frustrating to a coach than a turnover. Also we moved the ball down the field with SW.

You are really trying to make that stick. The Cam names are cursed, you will realize that soon enough.

So where is Lanier and will he be along shortly to tell us SW isn't the answer?? I know he's out there somewhere because I saw him posting in the SECScoreboard game thread.

I still think his point stands about a running QB. We can be decent without one, but never great, unless Gus gets more creative with the running game.
