I don't know why this randomly popped in my head, but I really enjoyed Ron Franklin, and loved hearing him call Auburn games.

Back when he did games a lot was when I was 8-13 years old, and I always remembered hearing him while watching the games with my dad.

I think he is also my favorite because he always did the games when my passion for Auburn starting growing.

I was a tad bit young, but I can remember my dad having the radio playing for some games but not all of them.

This was before your time to ya young whipper snapper but after Jim Fyffe it's Keith "WHOA NELLY" Jackson for me. He was awesome!

So much for thinking '95 was the year you graduated AU.

Sorry, but the Ol' Bahrs drinking buddy never did much for me announcing-wise.

Growing up in Atlanta, summer was always accompanied by Pete, Skip and Ernie either on TBS or WSB radio. I didn't know anyone else announced baseball...

Ray Scott, who used to do the NFL TV games back in the 1960s. Great old-time radio voice. Really projected the drama on the field.

Most announcers now talk way too much.

Agreed. I like very few on TV now. I really like Brad Nessler and Todd Blackledge.

"Has 5, has 10, at midfield, HE'S LOOSE!"

Yeah, he was great. If only he could've stayed PC while on air.

I also liked Don Sutton. Nothing better than a Braves game that was out of hand and listening to Skipp and Pete/Don/Ernie just telling stories.

As I get older I really respect Larry Munson. A great homer of an announcer. I freaking hated him back in the late 70's to early 80's but my hate was misdirected due to the team he homered for. Enjoy his old tapes almost as much as the Fyffe tapes. Franklin was also very good on the TV side.

My favorite was one game with Skip and Joe. They disagreed on something and kept politely going back and forth on it for an inning or so. Then Skip said at the end "Wanna fight?" and I just busted out laughing. You never hear announcers be funny and goofy anymore.
