My wife works with a dog rescue organization and we foster dogs constantly. Currently have two fosters at the house.

We have kept 3 fosters that needed treatment for heart worm. Tough to keep the young ones from "too much activity" but other than that is was not extreme. All three of our foster dogs that were treated for heart worm recovered nicely and found their permanent home. We did crate and gate the pups we were treating a little more to keep the healthy dogs from playing with them too much.

Thankfully , no experience with the kidney situation. Best of luck!
