One thing I was thinking about with this playoff system and Auburn next season. That's 15 games to win. You already play in the SEC West and then if you win that you play the best of the SEC East and if you win that you play one of the top 4 teams in the country and if you win that you play one of the other top 4 teams.

The S&C program Auburn runs plus the emphasis on a system and not players and on running (with NM) over running, I think we have a decent shot at this.

You've got to assume we'll handle Arkansas and San Jose State at home.

Kansas State on the road is going to be a great test for this squad, thankfully we have a BYE week. I don't have any idea what they return but they finished the year looking pretty decent, IIRC. I still think we pull out the W there.

We'll blow La Tech out, which is good seeing how we have LSU that next week. I think with all they've lost, and the game being at JHS where they tend to struggle, we have a great chance to win that game.

That puts us at 5-0 going to Starkville, a place we always struggle, to play what will be expected to be a pretty good MSU squad. I think we should win that game, but you never know.

Then you get the BYE week, with Auburn hopefully sitting at 6-0, and then we enter one hell of a grind.

Oct. 25 SOUTH CAROLINA AUBURN
Nov. 1 at Ole Miss Oxford, MS
Nov. 8 TEXAS A&M AUBURN
Nov. 15 at Georgia Athens, GA

Not to be negative, but you can see 2-2 in this stretch pretty easily. TAMU is the only game I'd straight up call a win right now. The most encouraging thing is that three of these teams replace their QB.

We'll hammer Samford, and the Iron Bowl will be a tossup.

8-4 is the lower end of acceptable, given that schedule, but it'd be disappointing. 10-2 is where I'm setting the bar.

With the way we beat them last year? Ha, they are going to want that bad, new qb or not

They'll want it bad, but I think Auburn will have the better team next year honestly.

It's going to be interesting, could easily be a play-in to Atlanta again.

I don't expect Bama to be nearly as good as they have been the past couple of years. But you never know by the end of the season it's a completely different ball game. Bama will likely still be in the 9-11 win range but I expect them to have more close calls.

I think you will see alot of "artificial pressure" from the media and especially the new sec network. If AU takes care of bidness this pressure will change to synergy, but if we still have weak links and prayer wins, the pressure can become real.

How Gus and the team deals with either situation is the key.

Anything less than a playoff berth next year will be a disappointment.

Bama is the only real challenge I see. Just don't see Georgia giving us a fit. Their defense should be better but their offense outside of Gurley and Marshall shouldn't be special.

Ole Miss will again be better but so will we.

I expect us to at least win the SEC. I won't be mad but disappointed if we don't. Our team should be leaps and bounds better.

After 2010 I can remember some of the lofty expecations for 2011 and 2012 some folks had. I'm hopeful, but won't get carried away.

Really? I think everyone was pretty realistic about 2011 because we were losing so much talent. I think everyone was cautiously optimistic about 2012.

Now you're just making shite up.

Auburn lost it's QB, #1/2/3 WRs, both HBs, 5 OL, 5 DL, 2 LBs, 2 Safties, & 1 Corner out of the 2-deep. This doesn't count the felony four either.

You don't lose half of a 2-deep and have "lofty expectations" unless you don't know shite about college football.

Scene: Heaven

Auburn Fan: Hey God, got time for a question?

God: Sure.

Auburn Fan: Hey, it's been a week now and I was wondering, why? Why after everything that went on, everything you did, why have Auburn lose it at the very very end?

God: Well,

it wasn't the plan. 21-3 was just the beginning, 42-3 at the half was the plan. It was about to get just awesome. But, sadly, I realized something in the second quarter.

This win was just going to make Auburn fat, dumb and happy again and 2014 and 2015 were going to be mediocre and that deal Alabama made with the devil, it'd be back on.

So you see, because Auburn is my chosen team, I really want a dynasty for them. Everytime I try to give them one, they screw it up. So this time I want it to be different, and so I decided to make the game close. To make them appreciate the win a little more, but after Mason scored I realized it wasn't enough. They still wouldn't go all dynasty mode. So I thought what if Mason scores as time runs out, but I could see in their hearts, no dynasty and Gus leaves.

I hated to do it, but I had no choice but to take it from them so that they'd grow stronger, tougher, rely on each other more, Auburn family, all of that stuff. That was how I knew I could get them to 15-0 and then 15-0 again without any help from me.

Auburn Guy: Huh. Well, can I go back?

God: No. We don't do that.

Auburn Guy: I don't mind. I could be breast fed again. Surely Katy Perry should be due for a lovechild by now...

God: Wait wha? Katy Perry was 5 years old when you got here, how do you know who she is? You've been watching? Damn those Arkansas fans they lead everyone astray. Listen if you don't stop hanging out with them I'm going to send you to where the Bear is, got it?

God: ...and it's about time I put the Arkansas fans where I put the LSU fans.

/yes I am that bored.
