Bryant looks like a solid QB, went 16-22 for 236, 1TD-1INT. Looked good running the ball, too. Fuller, Etienne, Feaster, and Cain are legit homerun threats. I think we can keep a lid on them, but how do we match up on offense?

Game will be won/lost on our OLs ability to block their DL... don't feel positive at this point.

Pettway breaking tackles should help.

Can't argue with that. Really hoping that, as Sandman mentioned in the other thread, we gelled a bit more with protections in the second half (rather than just wearing Ga. Southern out).

Of Auburn's 34 snaps on first down, only seven were "called" pass plays (20.6%). Jarrett Stidham was efficient against GSU but was placed in too many predictable situations. He attempted eight passes on third down compared to only five passes thrown on first down.

From StatTiger. Have to wonder whether or not the vanilla calls were to keep things close to the vest or to ease Stidham into things... probably both.

What is a non-called pass play? An RPO?

Turnovers will be huge. My only real complaint from last night was all the turnovers.

Pettway and Hastings keeping us alive in short yardage will win us the game. If Stidham is back having to hold the ball a while we get killed, and he doesn't make it out of the game.

I suppose.

Clemson looked sharp. However, Kent State is much worse than Georgia Southern and some of the other cupcakes we've played over the past couple of years. In fact, earlier this week Kent State was looking for students to join the team as walk ons because their depth is so bad. Also, their head coach was out.

LINK

I'm not saying Clemson isn't good, but you've got to look at the opponent.

Agree. I give Stidham a pass on the fumble. It was a blind side hit that would have pretty much rocked anyone. But the interception was on him. Bad throw and the fumble by our WR was also inexcusable. Have to hold on to the ball.

Our defense will be tested. Clemson is very good. Defending NC. We have a tremendous opportunity and will tell us where we are.

I think out D line can create some havoc assuming they aren't on the field too long.

Agree. Hopefully, they are patient. It will not be as easy as it was yesterday. LOL.

I look forward to this game. That stadium will be rocking and it will be a huge test for this team. Clemson does not lose at home often...

Not gonna pay much attention to it this week.

Too frustrating.

Just hope for the best.

Watched a good portion of both games.

Clemson:
Secondary completely unknown as Kent State had 0 passing attempts and only like 4-5 in second half running simple routes.
-Bryant stared down and threw to primary receiver on passing plays many times (and converted many of those passing plays because those skill players are good). A pick or two early could rattle him.
-Bryant is a legit running threat and we will need a spy on him at times.
-Skilled players are good on offense.
-Defensive line is very strong. We will have our issues both with running game and passing game dealing with that line.

Auburn:
-We need explosive plays on offense.
-We need to be unpredictable on 1st down.
-Defensive line and linebackers are SEC good. They need to be great in this game.
-Secondary is still unknown
-Clemson Death Valley is loud and we will need to limit the stupid penalties

Questionable call/Turnovers/lucky bounces will decide this game

He's not going to be breaking tackles if he's getting hit in the backfield.

Kent state ran the ball up the middle pretty much the whole game. Their offense looked really deceptive and difficult to gameplan for...

Clemson was our first loss after the 2010 national championship, and we began the terrible decline after that. frick Dabo, tired of getting shite from Clemson fans when I wear AU gear.

I'm ready to be that team that does the same to them and watch us take off. Can't wait for our defense to start breaking them and silence their crowd. Need to push that ball deep like we have in all of our exciting games against high-ranked opponents.
