Of course was All-SEC and All-American 1997, first round draft choice and an 8 year NFL career. I saw it posted by ex-teammates on social media.
RIP Big Vic!

Prayers for his family and friends. This is a real loss for the Auburn family.

I don't think there are any details available. Most of what I have seen is from former teammates on social media. None of their posts give any details.

kidney failure

A lot of kidney failure in athletes is due to excessive or prolonged use of NSAIDS

Silence as per cause of death and looks like several days from death to public announcement. I found out Monday from my sauces and didn’t post until yesterday as I was waiting for something official. Finally saw FB posts from Willies, Gosha and Whitehead, yesterday. Official announcements came out today on the Auburn website and the New Orleans Saints website. According to Auburn he died April 2 (Saints say April 8).
My sauces says no one is mentioning the cause of death.
Anywho, RIP VR!

frick! He's my age and my ex-wife had a few classes with him.

I remember talking to him in the tunnel after a Chiefs/Falcons game. Sad news.

I nearly destroyed my stomach taking them while I was still running at Auburn. I was a walking stress fracture.

Excessive protein and prolonged use of creatine damages the kidneys as well.
