He said he had heard that Jimbo Fisher has legitimate interest though and it is less pipe dream than people think.

I think it is a pipe dream too. Jimbo just isn't crazy speculation though and he would probably listen to what we have to offer at least

I have not kept up with this thread but has anyone mentioned BVG possibly getting the nod as HC?

I brought it up and we tossed it around. I think the consensus that it would just be me that sorta liked the thought

I think people aren't really against the idea but we want a proven head coach.

I keep asking why we would Jimbo who has underachieved at FSU in the ACC to be the headcoach at Auburn in the SECw and have not gotten an answer

I think some of us are being desperate in thinking that coaches like Fisher and PetriNO, who have never won big anywhere else, are going to magically turn it around at Auburn.

The next Auburn coaches primary job will be to win the State of Alabam. PetriNO has never beat Saban and Fisher is one of his many substandared minions. The next coach needs to be fearless and not intimidated to get head-to-head with Saban, anything less will be a failure

Because hiring Jimbo would be a big splash.

We would steal a well known coach from a big name program that has had a track record of doing at least pretty well.

It is appealing to people to be an ESPN story

In regards to Jimbo, what kind of medical facilities does FSU have? I feel that'd be a big factor in whether or not he decides to move.

We can be an ESPN story by winning football games, screw everything else, IMO

ok Larry Fedora seems like the most realistic decent coach that I've found so far

You have not gotten an answer bec your question doesnt make sense. How has he underachieved?

How many NC's or Conference Championships has he won at FSU? Even before Bowden was fired and he was coach-in-waiting, when was the last time FSU mattered outside of the media over-ranking them year after year?

Let's be realistic and admit that we need to hire a coach that can compete and is not intimidated by Saban in any area. We basically need 1980's Pat Dye to come in and say frick Bama, we're Auburn, and we're going to win.

Fisher, PertiNO, Strong, et al do not come accross as having that confidence and there are not a lot of coaches currently that do. Gary Patterson, James Franklin, maybe even Gundy after they were screwed last year but these are not the names that "excite" the fan base

So you believe he should have at least one championship in his two total HC years?

Interdasting...

I read that they took his son to Gainesville for treatment while in Florida. Then to Minnesota for the best of the best treatment.

Gene Chizik won an NC his 2nd year as head coach?

You sure about that one?

Nick Saban won his first conference title in his 8th year. Won his first NC in his 10th year. I don't know how anyone can argue that he's not the best coach out there today.

In his first two and only two years?

Relevance to Jimbo Fisher achievement as a HC in the ACC?

No, he won in his 4th year.

It's becoming more and more clear that Malzahn and Cam won that NC with the help of Tuberville's senior heavy OL. Chizik just happened to hire a great OC and recruiters that found Cam.

ETA: and as parkjas said, 4th year.
