Running back Tre Mason is re-connecting with his Auburn roots in an attempt to make a return to the NFL.

Mason, a third-round pick of the then-St. Louis Rams in the 2014 NFL Draft, was released by the franchise on March 10 after never reporting to the team last season and getting involved in legal trouble multiple times.

However, Mason is trying to get back on track by doing some rigorous offseason training with former Auburn teammate and current Cleveland Browns WR Ricardo Louis.

A video of them working out can be seen here at TMZ Sports, and it includes pushing midsize vehicles.

“When me and him get together, that’s all we know,” Louis said. “We’ve been doing this since we were at Auburn, before we had that magical season we were working hard before the season.”

Louis says he believes Mason could get picked up by a team and pick up right where he left off before his troubles.

“I don’t have no doubt in my mind. The work he’s putting in, the mindset he has, the track he’s on right now is all leading towards him getting another chance of playing.”
