Since I don't want to clutter the board with repeated "Fire Jay Jacobs" "Bring Back Bobby" threads I'm posting this to have a place to vent throughout the off season

Topics to melt by include but are not limited to:
1. Firing Gus won't fix Auburn football
2. Can we hold onto Bruce Pearl?
3. Lol QB

And whatever else floats your boat. Let's melt guys

No point in firing Gus while Saban is still in Tuscaloosa.

I'm in full posi-barner mode tbh. My modest prediction for football is 10+ wins, and in basketball I see no way we lose Pearl now.

But I'll always be on the Fire JJ wagon no matter what.

I actually agree, because Jay Jacobs will have the authority to make another hire that ends up a failure.

Bobby Petrino should be our guy right now. Since he's not, Tom Herman should be our next guy, or Bill Clark.

I went full posi-Barner last season. I was convinced we would win the SEC and watch JJ ascend to greatness. I also honestly believed Pearl would at least make the NIT.

I'm not joking guys, I sincerely believed these things to be true

I was on a cloud of tardness rarely seen. My crash landing back to earth has left me bruised, battered, and broken. I don't know if I'll ever go that posi again

Also, TT's I've never understood your love for Bobby Petrino. Knowing the "Family" Good Ol Boy culture at Auburn, Petrino wouldn't be a good fit

lol QB indeed... Gus hire a damn QB coach already. dont have to fire your love child, reassign him. just dont let him near our QBs. he'd make a fine overpaid quality control or whatever they title those off field guys. if you cant fix that frick you I hope they fire your arse.

probably in the same boat as Petrino won't happen unless Auburn completely sells its soul Clark was supposedly responsible for a few grade changes at Prattville. im pretty much at the point I don't give a rats arse anyway I say hire someone like petrino. clark. or tressell and if we end up on probation so be it i've had enough of coaching staffs coming in with a kumbaya attitude

Ok I'll play

Gus's offense needs a duel threat qb to be successful. The offense if based on the running game which is based on the read option.

If the qb is no threat to run the defense can focus on the running back and Auburn does not have the advantage in the running game. When the qb is a threat to run the defense must contain two players and Auburn has the advantage in the running game.

The problem occurred when Gus did not realize this and thought his offense would be just as effective with a qb who was not a threat to run. Auburn then recruited and signed three pocket qbs in JJ, SW, and Queen.

Now Gus is stuck without a competent duel threat qb on the roster (he did try to address this with JF and maybe he did), but for now Auburn needs to find a qb to get us through this year until WB is ready to go.

This may be a rough year and if it is to rough Gus may get fired before he gets the chance for a non true freshman WB to make the offense go.

Hopefully, Gus learned the lesson and if he survives this season will only bring in duel threat qbs.

Dude, you are so far in left field. Clark recruited at Prattville in the same manner as Saban. Bring as many top quality players in and just have the ones that aren't performing as well sit on the bench. The reason Prattville was as dominant as it was at the time is due to the fact that there were guys on the bench almost as skilled and talented as the guys playing so there was never a need to regroup. This becomes easy when you have the jr. high and little league coaches using simplified versions of the offense and defense.
