I guess its a Barner convention in that area.. My wife and I will be in Pigeon Forge that same weekend for the game.

We should all get together and burn that mother down.

Planning on driving up to the game early Saturday morning and back to PF that night

I've gone, and IMO Knoxville doesn't compare to Auburn.

What is the tailgating like down by the river? Is itgrass or just a parking lot? We have always tailgated in one of the parking lots off of university or whatever the main street is...

IIRC, there is a road alongside the river and on the other side of the road there are some parking areas to tailgate on. Wasn't a big fan of Knoxville, too much pavement around campus so not enough tailgating spots.

Not sure, but the upper deck one requires a Sherpa and 4 O2 bottles minimum.

It's a concrete paradise. Literally concrete is everywhere.. Concrete and buildings that should be condemned.

hope we're taking a full band to knoxville... away games are much more enjoyable when it's not a pep band.

Unfortunately we're just taking a pep band.

Staying in Gatlinburg the night before. Any recommendations on what to do the night before? Good places to eat, ect.?

Is this our choice or did UT request it due to homecoming activities at halftime?

Also, does anyone know what time Tigerwalk will be? It should be at Gate 9.

That's probably what it was. I know some strange stuff happened last year when we tried to bring the whole band to Ole Miss on what ended up being their homecoming - the new athletic director called like two weeks before the game and said we weren't going to be allowed to march, which didn't particularly sit well with our AD/music department.

Depends on kickoff time

Nope, pep bands for the rest of the away games this year :/

Usually, yeah, ending with taking the full band to either Georgia or Bama. I think both of them being at home this year kinda messed that up. We may be saving the money and looking at taking the full band to three next year (OM - UGA - UA) but that's nothing but guesswork.

It's my first away game since UT in 2004 and I was only 14 so I didn't really get to enjoy it.

Bump.

Looks like we will be driving over from Gatlinburg the day of the game and looking for tix outside the stadium. I'd like to hit the river and the pizza place everyone mentioned. Anything else I need to see?
