They definitely expected Russell to play. No doubt about it. I was honestly shocked they didn't clear him.

Me too and a little suspect IMO. Guys who aren't medically cleared to play usually aren't dressed in full pads with their helmet on. Seemed like a little gamesmanship from Mullen.

I don't think it was unethical or anything... if Prescott plays from here on out it will only validate my opinion that Mullen planned on playing DP regardless of Russell's status.

Ehh. In 2010 if AU had to sit Cam b/c of injury or ineligibility I would have hoped then we would dress him out to keep the other team from completely zoning him out of the possibility.

Smart coaching over poor gamesmanship in my opinion.

I thought it was odd to see him in full pads w/ helmet while the announcers were saying he wasn't medically cleared. We definitely did not look like we gameplanned for Prescott at all.

I think had a lot more to do with Mullen playcalled like a champ when Jake HOlland was in the game. Dak Prescott run QB draws right at Jake Holland for 2.5 quarters and was never stopped short of 5 yards it seemed like. Holland couldn't handle it. Unlike 95% of coaches who mix things up, State kept running what clearly was working. I applaud their playcalling more than our lack of preparation
