Under the terms of the new agreement, which was signed on April 1, Malzahn will make $4.725 million per year through Dec. 31, 2020.

April fools day.

Nice link to an article from June. Thanks for wasting my fricking time Luke. We get it. You hate Gus, you hate Jacobs (agreed), you hate it all.

Starting a thread every damn day to say this is just a waste of time for everyone. Maybe try exercising or going out to eat, whatever it takes to keep you from posting the same tired shite on here everyday.

Ha, if you only had a clue. Tolerating this ineptness is the primary thing holding our program back.

So, you're for hiring/firing a new coach every 4 yrs. That has really been working for us, if you want instant success followed by sub-par seasons. Hell, why not be proactive and fire them after a year or two of success
eta: That'll surely prevent the inherent ups and downs of college football. Maybe after 5-6 coaches in 10 yrs we'll get someone like Saban or Meyer

That's not his point and you know that. We are regressing, not progressing. Gus is in over his head. Our team is not prepared to play week in and week out. We are headed in the wrong direction and are now bottom dwellers in the SEC and have been since last season.

My point is that we've regressed after success under our previous 4 coaches. I think part of that is due to the nature of cfb. There aren't many guys out there that consistently win big every year, especially competition in the division. On a related note, I'd like to see the sec do away with divisions.

The bigger issue imo is the culture of the AU AD.

I agree 100% about the culture of the AD. There is no clear vision. How can we expect our coaches to be good leaders when the AD doesn't know how to lead.

Exactly. I don't know what's going on down there, but something ain't right. Seems like our coaches are being pulled in different directions and everyone is on a different page.

Chiz, a solid DC, comes in as HC and our D immediately tanks. Still recovering. He & Boom both coached under Mack Brown (tifwiw) and went on to be poor HCs, but at least Boom always has a great defense

No one expects win big every year, but yearly regression is unacceptable for a top 10 paid coach.

It is also unacceptable to field that garbage offense with a Top 10 salary coach that is supposed to be a offensive guy. And it is not just qbs; OL, FB, TE, our tiny WRs all are subpar.

Completely agree. Changes need to be made. I'm just not ready to start over again, and I worry about the perception of AU among coaches.

That we pay well for doing a subpar job. Every coach had self-confidence, they are not going to worry about that.

If Gus misses a bowl this year, he should be fired. 5-7 is just not going to cut it in year 4. That is not building a program, it is destroying it.

Maybe if Jacobs had the ability to hire a decent established coach we wouldn't have to change every four years? How many millions has that goofball cost the program with his assisine extensions and contracts? Maybe Auburn could have afforded to hire a 6-7 million dollar coach with all of that money that he has squandered on his "projects".

Way too much. Add the big screen to it. Would've much rather used that money on upgrading football facilities, which was part of Gus's first extension. It's cool I guess, but not as cool as what aTm has for their players.

Maybe that bumpkin thought the fans would get off his back if he bought us a tv?
