Seems kind of strange to me. Has this been done before?

I'm pretty sure they had it a number of years while Tim Hudson was there. Don't remember it before then.

Maybe it was so successful while Huddy was there, they didn't wanna stop doing it.

Not that I can recall.

Seems like it would have been a good idea back when Jonathon Schuerholz was playing for AU. Never understood why we didn't exploit that connection (especially since the Braves were still good back then )

Just checked John Schuerholz's wiki page and discovered this:
quote:

Schuerholz's son, Jonathan, was selected by Atlanta in the eighth round of the 2002 MLB draft and played in the minor leagues until 2007. Jonathan retired from baseball in August 2007 to go back to Auburn University to complete his business degree. The younger Schuerholz, who finished his six-year career in the minor leagues with a .223 batting average, was named manager of the Rome Braves (Atlanta's Class-A minor league affiliate) in 2014. After the season, Jonathan was reassigned to the Braves front office to serve as an assistant player-development director.

I've got my ticket

I really just want the hat.

ETA: but I've also been meaning to head up there for one more game at the Ted, so everything works out

I'm just going to assume Jim Gorrie made this happen with their contract to build the new stadium.

That is a good looking hat. Hate the slouchie style hats, but still good looking.

New but not strange. They hold UGA Night and Georgia Tech Night and other teams doing things similar to this with nearby schools.

I wish I could go.

I really want that hat. Haven't been to a game yet this year, so maybe I should take a trip.

90% of the reason I'd go is for the hat.

This!

I'd seriously pay $50 for one of those hats.

I'll end up treating it like the bobble head nights and just finding one on ebay. It's a hell of a lot cheaper than driving to a game from Birmingham
