Paraphrased...

AGENT 1: No one thought Harsin was a good fit for AU. Fiasco after the season ruined his confidence going forward. "One false move and he's done." No one is going to want to follow him.

AGENT 2: It's AU, you wonder every year if they're going to fire the HC. If Tank stays in bounds they'd have given him a huge extension.

AGENT 3: Feel sorry for ADAG. "He's babysitting a bunch of billionaire crybabies". Says our GOBs panicked when LSU hired Kelly and tried to get rid of Harsin to bring in someone bigger.

AGENT 4: AU has long-term institutional problems. Believes both Harsin & ADAG are dead men walking. Takes his colleagues to task for 'chasing money' and sending their clients into disastrous situations.

Trying to figure which one is Jimmy Sexton (leaning towards #4, sounds like something he would say to gain a competitive advantage).

Sounds like a lazy article where they talked to agents who fed the writer Auburn tropes because they don't actually have any insight

These the same guys claiming Steele had organized a massive uprising vs Gus and was taking over? Clark was the next coach? How many years in a row has ADAG being fired? 4?

Exactly.

I put coaches' agents somewhere between used car salesmen and TV evangelists in terms of integrity and honesty. And you know every damn one of those quoted would jump all over an opportunity to squeeze big bucks out of AU without worrying about 'long-term institutional problems' or 'billionaire crybabies'.

Seems like some pretty lazy takes other than #4. If these are actual agents you'd think they'd have a little more nuance.

Let’s see how many HCs Auburn has went through the past 40 years compared to all other SEC coaches. This is the biggest crock of horse shite that keeps getting repeated. Kind of like the everything is racist crap.

Yeah, but they are still rated a lot higher than most sports columnists. They are just gossip mongers and if the gossip isn't juicy enough, they'll make stuff up.

With the exception of Chizik, every coach since Shug (1950) has gotten at least five years. That's 72 years.

Read in another article somewhere that said “Auburn chews up HCs and spits them out” and I thought, “is there another Auburn out there that I don’t know about?”

It's amazing we somehow have that reputation (or at least people try to tag Auburn with it) when our coaches average like 8 years

They sound like they know as much about Auburn as all of our “Insiders”.

I'd go with number 2 because he would've done that exact thing if Harsin was one of his clients. Hell, he did do that in 2017 with Gus.

I don't care what agents say. I would care a little more if these were anonymous head coaches.
